Moon Jar With Copper

£300.00

This large form has been made by hand using a number of techniques and it has been finished off on the potter’s wheel.

This form is not perfect in its symmetry, as I prefer to embrace the irregularity in a handmade ceramic vessel. All of my forms are usually slightly off centre and irregular in shape, embracing the beauty and movement which I find gives the work more character.

The top part of this piece has a copper sheet attached, which has been glued with an epoxy. This sculptural art piece represents found pieces of metals that I observe on my coastal walks. Items sticking out of rocks, or exposed metal pieces that once served a purpose which have naturally corroded over time to create a new surface texture.

Decorative use only. Stoneware black clay, Copper sheet.

Measurements approx (H36cm x W21cm)

Care instructions: Please take care when handling this product. The blisters can occasionally burst, this is the effect of the glaze. If this happens, all it needs is a little light sanding by hand to remove any sharp edges.

Please DO NOT pick up the vessel by the copper sheet attached.
